Overview

“This is Alaska the way it used to be. A small group of guests, comfortable tent cabins, fine food, and endless Alaska fishing right outside your door. If you do not get enough fishing time during the day, we will gladly take you out after dinner for even more time on the river…”

Angler’s Alibi is a Premier Alaska Fishing Lodge.

  • World Class Fishing With all 5 salmon species and trophy Alaskan rainbow trout.
  • Fly-in access only on famous Bristol Bay Watershed. Secluded location.
  • Comfortable Deluxe Tent Lodge with a max of 12 guests per week, all inclusive.
  • Return rate of guests at 80 to 90 percent.
  • Our guides are World class licensed Coast Guard Captains. 2 to 1 guest to guide ratio.
  • Best food in its class, private chef & staff.
  • Affordable rates, corporate events & memories that last a lifetime. Alaska’s best kept secret in the lodge business.

Angler’s Alibi, a premier Alaska fishing lodge, may be the best example of what an Alaskan fishing experience is supposed to be. Our location—no roads or crowds, just unbelievable fishing, spectacular scenery, and an abundance of wildlife, our years of experience—over 20 years in business; and our guest/guide ratio (2:1) ensure plenty of individual attention, and an Alaskan fishing program tailored to your expectations.

Our location on the tidewater section of the Alagnak River means that we have great fishing right off our shoreline, even right off the dock! We utilize 6 guide boats, 6 guides, and take only 12 guests per week. This makes our fishing program very easy to customize according to the guests’ wishes.

We are fishing for all 5 species of salmon when they are still in their ocean feeding patterns, chrome bright and full of fight. It is possible to land all 5 species without ever leaving camp. The fishing and wading is extremely easy on the Alagnak River. The best salmon fishing on the Alagnak River is within a ten minute boat ride from camp and some of the very best fly fishing water on the Alagnak River is literally right out our front door. We also provide optional guided fly-outs to some of Alaska’s other very best rainbow trout, arctic char, and grayling streams.

At Angler’s Alibi, our fishing program is first priority, and we believe that you should be catered to in every way possible. Whether you fly out to fish on another stream or stay on the Alagnak, you will have the opportunity to spend more guided time on the water than you would at most other Alaska lodges. You will be wined, dined and well rested so you can take advantage of this opportunity. Several of our guests have fished at other Alaska area lodges before visiting us. According to our guests, they finally experienced their ultimate Alaskan fishing trip at Angler’s Alibi. We will gladly supply you with a list of references.

What makes us unique:

  1. Our location is remote – no roads or crowds…just unbelievable fishing, spectacular scenery, and an abundance of wildlife.
  2. Angler's Alibi is located on the tidewater section of the Alagnak River. This location allows for great fishing right off our shoreline, even right off the dock!
  3. The Bristol Bay Watershed is the only designated trophy trout area in the state. Angler's Alibi guests can target trout on the fly in this world-class watershed—a must for any angler's bucket list.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Description

This is the trip most folks visualize when they think of Alaska. You won’t be roughing it: comfortable Weatherport tent cabins are your home base, complete with carpeted wood floors, electricity, heat and housekeeping service.

There are 2 full guest shower rooms, and 1 for the staff. The hot water is unlimited coming from our on demand hot water heater. There are 2 flush commodes for the camp. We provide laundering services on a daily basis to all guests. There is a phone at camp, and we also have a satellite phone for our fly-outs and as a back up for emergencies. If for any reason there was a medical emergency, there is a doctor within a 30 minute flight from camp. Our camp is surrounded by an electric fence—you can rest peacefully at night knowing you will not have any 4-legged friends outside your tent.

In addition to your own lodge tent, we recently added a brand new main lodge. This new build acts as the dining tent and relaxation zone…with a fire place and bar so anglers can catch up on the days Alaska adventures.

Meals

Dinners at Angler’s Alibi are an integral part of our Alaskan fishing lodge experience;. One that, along with great fishing, keeps customers coming back year after year. Excellent fishing — as good as it can get in Alaska — earn Angler’s Alibi rave reviews (see our Trip Advisor reviews), but our attention to the guests’ food experience earns positive feedback, every year. We utilize as much fresh product available during the course of the summer to keep the meals simply amazing! A new dining lodge and handcrafted reclaimed wood table add to the experience as guests enjoy our Chef’s creations including prime rib, fresh sushi and smoked salmon appetizers (caught each day in the Alagnak River), and savory dishes from scratch. Returning clients often bring in fresh fruit and vegetables to enhance our options. Every dinner is finished off with a homemade dessert like chocolate mouse or crème brulee to mention a few.

Don’t worry about fuel in the morning for boats or yourself…guests start their Alaska fishing day off with great breakfasts too. Breakfasts at Angler’s Alibi are always to order. All our guests are woken up bedside with a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate daily. Once they arrive to the main dining lodge, guests have the option of an omelette bar every day of the week with specials like breakfast burritos, eggs benedict, or homemade french toast. There is not a guest that heads out on the river without a satisfying meal to start the day.
