Halibut Fishing in British Columbia
British Columbia halibut fishing is fantastic. While not typically as large as halibut caught in the colder waters off Alaska, they are still plentiful and the locations that are fished are usually warmer and calmer.
You can expect to catch lots in the 20-50 pound range, with large “barn-door” specimens of greater than 200 lb. (90 kg) not uncommon, and the largest sport-caught halibut tipped the scales at 455 pounds. Halibut fishing is pure adrenaline!

With a King Salmon run between 60,000-200,000 kings annually … to say “high volume” is to sell the river short. Where most rivers have gone to “catch and release” or only 1 King, On the “Nush” anglers are still allowed 2 Kings per day, ranging from 18 – 50 lbs.
