    In the 1930s, Chaunigan Lake gained a reputation as a fishing destination for its abundant wild rainbow trout. Careful management, research and a remote location that has preserved this unique world-class rainbow trout fishing experience.

    • Lodge plans (accomodation, full meals, free boat rental): CA$250 per person per day
    • Adults are considered those aged 13 or older at check-in.
    • Discounts available:
      • 10% Full-Week Discount for any 7 consecutive nights.
      • 10% Preferred/Repeat Guest Discount for guests who came in prior two years.
      • 20% Second Visit Discount for guests who come twice or more in the same year.
      • Group Discounts available (contact Lodge Manager).
    • Taxes include 5% GST plus 8% PST. For US customers, the GST is unfortunately not refundable from the Canadian Government when you cross back in to the USA. Ask your lodge manager for details before you leave. (GST # 139182745 RT)

    All bookings include the use of resort facilities free of charge: patio, wood fired sauna, games room (pool table, board games, books, and darts), children's play area, and campfire circle. Optional evening entertainment may include slide shows about plants and animals, gold rush history, and aboriginal history of the Southern Chilcotin.

    Drop-in bookings are provided on a first come first served basis with no implied guarantee of availability upon arrival (first to pay gets the cabin). We are often able to provide rentals on a "call first drop in" basis for a few weeks before June 1 and after Sept. 30.

    Our Rustic and deluxe Log Cabins are designed to offer the charm and warmth of a classic wilderness cabin with the luxury of home. Part of Chaunigan's charm is the pioneer feeling of staying in our rugged hand-crafted log cabins. The cabin builders carefully selected the trees, cut the logs to length, peeled off the bark, and notched the logs to fit tightly together. Cozy up to the wood fireplace, relax, and enjoy the views.

    Corporate buyout:     

    Max Cabin capacity is 35 beds. Groups exceeding 35 can be accommodated by adding tents or recreation vehicles. Dinning room capacity is 35 people. Groups exceeding 35 can be accommodated by eating in shifts or adding tables to our outside deck. Meal packages are $100/person day, groups can self cater to save cost and take over our large commercial kitchen and eat together in the lodge dining room.

    Chaunigan Lake Lodge is located in the midst of impressive hiking trails on glaciers, alpine meadows, and untouched wilderness. Our hikes vary in difficulty so that everyone can experience the beauty of the Chilcotin up close.


    Chaunigan lake and its surrounding area is home to an abundance of wildlife, including Canadian moose, deer, bobcats, lynx, swans, eagles and if you get lucky even a bear, so have your camera ready as you might just get the shot of a lifetime.

    Bird Watching

    Birdwatching is a very popular past time at Chaunigan Lake, for all the amateur birdwatchers alike, even for the aspiring ornithologists out there. Chaunigan Lake is home to a broad range of unique bird species.

    Horseback Riding

    Let one of our local guides take you on an fun afternoon horseback ride adventure, go and explore the scenic backcountry, connect with nature, the animals and your surroundings during this western style experience


    Chaunigan Lake Lodge is delighted to offer boats and canoes for rent to guests eager to explore the lake. The lodge manager will be happy to advise on finding secluded fishing spots and the best areas for wildlife spotting.

    Fun Time

    Chaunigan Lake Lodge offers many free in-door and out-door amenities. Steam in the wood-fired sauna, or roast marshmallows around the campfire. Play billiards in the games parlour, or hang out in the lounge.


    Chaunigan Lake is situated on a large plateau 5,000 ASL. In the lea of Mount Tsi'lo?s, a very majestic 10,049 ft in elevation, glacier capped peak. One of the principal summits of the Chilcotin Mountain Range.


    Our lodge is the perfect place if your searching for tranquility, relaxation and harmony in nature, read your favourite book on our deck, go for a swim or enjoy a glass of wine beside a crackling campfire under the stars.


    Main Lodge

    The main lodge houses a spacious lounge with a large stone fireplace, reading corner, a games room with pool table, dart board, and board games for you to enjoy. After dinner relax with a drink in hand on the patio, taking in your surroundings and the stunning view overlooking Chaunigan Lake.
