Overview

Wilderness Place Lodge offers the best value in all-inclusive Alaska fishing lodge packages. The highest level of customer service and hospitality is what we do. Our river is the ideal “postcard” clear-water tributary offering the best fishing for all salmon species, rainbow trout and arctic grayling. Our modern cabins provide the utmost comfort, the meals top-notch.

Wilderness Place Lodge is a remote fly-in fishing lodge off the road system in south central Alaska. Our lodge is located on Lake Creek, a remote clear-water river system. We fly by float plane approximately 70 miles Northwest from Anchorage towards Denali National Park. The 45 minute flight covers a vast array of wetlands, rivers, dense forests and lakes. The valley is an incredible spectacle of what remains of it’s glacial past. Epic views of Mt. Denali (McKinley) to the north can be seen on clear days.

Alaska salmon fishing is an incredible venue on our home river. Our river receives strong runs of all salmon species summer-long. We are proud to offer world class opportunities for spin and fly fishing enthusiasts of all ages, abilities and walks of life. Enjoy the great diversity of wade fishing opportunities our river provides. The lower five miles of the river breaks into many various river channels and features islands, gravel bars and backwater sloughs providing ideal holding water for salmon species. The clear waters of Lake Creek offers extraordinary sight fishing!

We do our best to offer the best value and accommodations! We focus on fine amenities, private deluxe guest cabins and 1:1 personal service. Our kind staff of 20 is eager to serve you! We are located on the banks of Alaska’s remote Lake Creek river on 10 wooded private acres. We cater to the needs and preference of a diverse group of guests from around the world. We give all the credit to our core clientele, some of which whom have been with us over 20 seasons! They have played an integral role in helping the lodge evolve into a world-class customer service destination.

Alaska salmon fishing and trout fishing is excellent and our picturesque clear water river is like none other. Our scenic freestone river system receives large runs of all Alaska salmon species. All salmon fishing is primarily by wade fishing and occasionally from the boat. Fishing for all species of salmon with spin and fly fishing methods are highly productive. The clear-water river system is the purest definition of an ideal native rainbow trout sanctuary. Trout fishing on Lake Creek Alaska is outstanding throughout the summer and fall fishing seasons.

For those that love true remote wilderness areas, love to fish, love camping, photography and the thrill of adventure – our remote Alaska float trip packages are the perfect fit for you! We offer 6 day fully guided, outfitted and catered deluxe fly-in float trips down the length of our 60 mile river.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Description

Our fishing lodge has seven separate deluxe cabins, all with full electricity, heat and all the comforts of home. Two log cabins are located on the banks of Lake Creek and five knotty-pine interior frame cabins are located just off the river’s edge. The cabins are heated with wood stove or electric climate-controlled heat, decorated with local photography, and are equipped to offer each guest very comfortable, deluxe Alaskan accommodations. Daily housekeeping service is provided and we do have clothes washer/dryer facilities for the use of our guests. We have the most comfortable memory foam mattresses! Comfort is key after a full day of fishing on the river.

Our deluxe cabins offer either single or queen beds with full bath facilities within. Two deluxe cabins house 4 fishing guests each in 3 twin/1 queen beds; two deluxe cabins house 3 guests with 2 twin/1 queen beds; and two cabins house 2 guests featuring one twin and one queen bed in each. Our private cabins are situated on 10 private acres on the banks of Lake Creek. We are just minutes away from the very best fishing and wilderness areas. We wish to offer the most comfortable accommodations possible. 24 hour electric is available for those in need. If there is anything we can do to make your stay with us more comfortable, please let us know. Every year we strive to get better! Note: We do have one extra log Alaskan cabin on the river’s edge without interior bath facilities that we also can use to accommodate groups for certain dates throughout the summer. This cabin is the preferred cabin of our loyal South African guests of 24 years!

Single fisherman will need to be paired with another single angler as our cabins are double occupancy

Our main lodge building is where you can relax after your day on the river fishing. It is true Alaskan ambience; definitely not “hotel-like,” …no drywall and no fabricated modern construction here. The lodge is beautiful with all natural Alaska pine and Sitka spruce, well-crafted and what you would expect out of a deluxe Alaska fly in fishing lodge. Many large outside decks allow for additional lounge space with river and forest views.
