Overview

Absaroka Mountain Lodge, nestled 12 miles outside the East entrance of Yellowstone National Park and 39 miles west of Cody, Wyoming, offers a charming blend of historic charm and modern comfort. Established in the early 1900s and once owned by Buffalo Bill Cody’s grandson, the lodge provides guests with an authentic western experience. The historic lodge features rustic log cabins, a cozy restaurant, and a welcoming atmosphere. The lodge operates from May 23rd to September 22nd for the 2024 season, providing a perfect base for exploring Yellowstone and the surrounding areas.

What's Included?

How many hours of guided fishing?

Return transportation:

If YES, the lodge covers all transportation costs to and from the Travel Destination. If NO, you are responsible for all costs getting to and from the lodge.

Cleaning, filleting, vacuum packing and refrigerated (or frozen) storage.

Balance due: Upon Arrival

If you need to cancel 30 days or more prior to your arrival, you will receive your deposit back less $50.00 cancelation fee (per cabin). Reservation deposits MUST BE refunded to the same credit card used in making the reservation. This policy is to aid in prevention of credit card fraud.*

If you cancel 29 to 4 days prior to arrival, your deposit is forfeited unless we are able to re-book the reserved cabin(s) for ALL dates which it was originally reserved. If we are able to re-book the cabin the deposit will be refunded less the $50 cancellation fee (per cabin). Reservation deposits MUST BE refunded to the same credit card used in making the reservation to aid in prevention of credit card fraud.*

If you cancel 3 days or less prior to arrival: You will be responsible for 100% of your intended stay. This amount will be refunded less the $50.00 cancellation fee (per cabin) if we are able to re-book your cabin for ALL of the nights of your stay.*

Description

Absaroka Mountain Lodge features 15 rustic log cabins that combine historic charm with modern comforts. Each cabin is equipped with heat, electricity, private bathrooms, mini-fridges, and microwaves. Some cabins require a 2-night minimum stay. All cabins are non-smoking, and pets are not allowed.

Amenities

The lodge offers several amenities, including WiFi in the Main Lodge with some restrictions. Guests can enjoy fishing in Gunbarrel Creek and the North Fork of the Shoshone River. The on-site restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, with options for beer and wine. The historic lodge features a cozy restaurant and common areas for relaxation. Additionally, staff and guests receive free season passes to the Cody Nite Rodeo.

Meals

The lodge’s restaurant serves breakfast daily from 7:00 am to 9:30 am, featuring dishes like Cowboy Grub and Absaroka Mountain Buffalo Chips. Dinner is available from Tuesday to Sunday, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm, with popular options including Sirloin Steak, Western Chicken, and Spaghetti with homemade meat sauce. Beer and wine are served, and guests can bring their own wine with a $5 corking fee.

    Other Activities

    Aside from fishing, Absaroka Mountain Lodge provides various activities. Guests can explore scenic hiking trails, participate in roping dummies and horseshoes, and enjoy nearby horseback riding. Local caves and picturesque views in Gunbarrel Canyon offer opportunities for exploration. Wildlife viewing is also a highlight, with potential sightings of deer, moose, grizzly bears, bighorn sheep, black bears, and bison in the surrounding area.
