The Big Intervale Fishing Lodge is a serene retreat located in the heart of the Margaree Valley, Nova Scotia. Founded as a private residence in the 1970s and transformed into a fishing lodge in 1997, it has become a beloved destination for fishing enthusiasts, particularly those seeking the thrill of Atlantic Salmon fishing. The lodge is renowned for its scenic beauty, rich history, and warm Swiss hospitality, provided by the Schneeberger family who have been its caretakers since their immigration from Switzerland.

  • Pool rotation etiquette is an important feature of the river and must be followed.

  • Salmon pools are well mapped and all water is public. 

  • There are many local guides available, and hiring one for a day will help learn the river and dramatically increase your chances of hooking a fish of a lifetime!
