Overview

Hook’n Them Up Fishing Charters is a family-owned & operated local business operating in the beautiful and remote location of Port Hardy, Port McNeill & the surrounding areas. We focus on fishing charters for halibut, salmon, and rockfish.

Chinook and Coho are the most popular salmon off Vancouver Island. With a number of healthy and productive river systems nearby, there are generally solid numbers of large Chinook and Coho available to our charters. We cover areas from Port McNeill, Port Hardy & Winter Harbor, Quatsino Sound area. You can enjoy the beautiful Coastline as we head out of the harbor to the fishing grounds. Hook’n Them Fishing charters offers trips area 10, 11, 12 127 & 27. Whether it’s for Salmon, Lingcod or Halibut fishing Hook’n Them Up Fishing Charters has got you covered.

The lodge is an executive B&B style private accommodation with spacious rooms, a wood-burning fireplace, and a forest setting. A perfect home-base for a north island adventure! You will see a full range of what nature has to offer including whales, sea lions, and other various marine life even the odd cruise ship or two steaming by.

Master Guide Steven Cahill has been putting guests on the fish on the North Coast for many years now and he’s gained a reputation as one of the best charters and lodges on the North Coast. Hook’n Them Up takes guided anglers like you to the best salmon fishing, halibut fishing, and sports fishing on Canada’s Pacific north coast. Hook’n Them Up Fishing Charters offers 2 of the safest boats and longest hours on the water of anyone on Northern Vancouver Island. You will cruise the ocean in comfort in our 27ft offshore SeaRay or our 26ft offshore Larson.  Capt. Steve and his guide welcomes anglers of any age or experience level aboard. Whether you’re complete beginners looking for some tasty fish and a beautiful view, or seasoned sport fishers looking to beat your personal best, he has the equipment, the boat, and the experience to build your perfect fishing trip and he specializes in the following fishing areas. Standard rates for the boat are based on a fuel price of $1.30/litre and are for a 10 hour day starting at 6:00 am. (tides pending may leave earlier). Should fuel prices increase, a $75.00 daily surcharge will be applied. *Fuel surcharge applies $125/day if fuel exceeds $1.60/litre or $200.00 per day *Fuel surcharge applies if fuel exceeds $1.90/litre

If YES, the lodge covers all transportation costs to and from the Travel Destination. If NO, you are responsible for all costs getting to and from the lodge.

The captain reserves the right to cancel trips if he deems the weather conditions are unsafe or if other safety or behavior issues arise. As well the Captain can and will refuse guests from boarding the vessel if the guest in any way threatens the safety of the vessel or its guests. Safety First Folks.

    BOATS

    Description

    While fishing with Hook’n Them Up fishing charters your day will be spent on a 27ft SEA RAY with G2 250 H.O. horse power outboard motor a true west coast fishing machine or our newest addition 26ft Larson with 300 horse power Yamaha. Both vessels are equipped with a 9.9 kicker.

    The vessels are fully equipped with the latest safety gear and quality fishing equipment to suite your halibut and salmon fishing needs. For your safety and ours The Captain and guides are fully Transport Canada Certified with SOVP, ROC MC, Marine First Aid, MED A1,A2,A3, CPR C & AED. We exceed and excel on the amount of SAFETY that we provide when fishing with Hook’n Them Up Fishing Charters.

    • Nanaimo to Port Hardy, 390 km, 4 ½ hours; Nanaimo to Port McNeill, 340 km, 4 hours

    Pacific Coastal Airlines

    Pacific Coastal Airlines operate daily scheduled flights between the Port Hardy Airport (YZT) and Vancouver Airport’s South Terminal (YVR) with approximately 1 hour flying time.

    Kenmore Air

    You can charter flights form Kenmore Air in Seattle from Port McNeill as well but you will have to call for details.

    Northwest Seaplanes

    You can charter flights form Northwest Seaplanes to Port McNeill as well but call them for details.
