Kluane Wilderness Lodge, the only commercial operation on Wellesley Lake lies in the land of the Midnight Sun, Canada’s Yukon. This quality managed fishery makes it one of the world’s premier Lake Trout destinations.
Lakers over 50 pounds will make your dreams come true. Take 24 hours of sun and fishing time during June and July plus the Aurora Borealis most commonly known as the Northern Lights in August and September create a true angling paradise.
Kluane Wilderness Lodge is truly in the last frontier with the nearest neighbor or road 80 miles away, it’s the way that the wilderness is suppose to be. You can even be here for a whole week and not even see a plane fly over and if one does, you have to wonder if they are lost.
Located 200 air miles northwest of Whitehorse in Canada’s Yukon Territory, Wellesley Lake is without a doubt the world’s finest Lake Trout lake and has a prolific Pike population up to 50 inches. Wellesley is classed as the number one trophy Lake Trout lake in Canada by Field and Stream Magazine. Operated on a catch and release, single barbless hook policy for more than 23 years, this fertile lake keeps producing record catches like no other body of water on the continent. You can jig for them…cast for them…toss flies for them or …troll artificials for them. Except for a small section of reef near the lodge there are no hazards to hit unlike other lakes in the north. It is nearly impossible to get lost on the lake and you come and go as you like.
Average Lake Trout at Kluane weigh in at better than 15 pounds, 40 pounders seldom raise an eyebrow and there’s more than enough 50 pound plus fish to wear you out. From the pros to the novice, anyone can catch fish and all do. Along with the added advantage of not having to have a guide with you, you can fish around the clock if you so desire.

Happy to welcome Kenai River Recon to the site! Kenai River Recon offers expertly guided fishing trips on Alaska’s famous Kenai and Kasilof rivers for salmon and rainbow trout fishing. Its easy drive-in access make it a good a good entry point to Alaska fishing before venturing into wilder areas like Bristol Bay or Kodiak. Although meals aren't included, the accommodations are very comfortable, the gear is new and top-notch, and the 5.0 average rating is no doubt primarily due to guide Sean Smart's friendliness and experience. fishlodges.com/lodge/kenai-river-recon/ ... If you are contemplating taking a larger group (family, corporate event) fishing in Alaska this year, you won't do better than Driftwood Wilderness Lodge on Kodiak Island. They are rated 5 stars (combined Google, TripAdvisor and Facebook), they're entirely off-the-grid, and have fantastic saltwater, freshwater and fly fishing opportunities. But for a group of 5 or more, they offer 15% the total package price. Plus, if you make your booking through fishlodges.com you can get an additional 4% discount for a total of 19% OFF! For a group of 6, that equates to a HUGE US$3,950 discount.
