Overview

Experience expert fishing and then relax in comfortable lodgings at the Orvis Endorsed Montana Fly Fishing Lodge. Our lodge is in the Yellowstone River Basin, a big and diverse area. You’ll have the chance to fish in different places, without many other anglers around. You might cast your line from a drift boat in a wide valley one day, from a special fly-fishing raft in the mountains the next, and in the Montana prairies on another day. Every day will be spent in beautiful Big Sky Country, near famous waters like the Yellowstone, Bighorn, Stillwater, Boulder, and smaller private-access streams with excellent fishing opportunities.

What makes us unique:

  1. Sporting Clays
  2. UTV Riding
  3. Day Spa
  4. River Rafting

For your fly fishing outings, make sure to pack the essentials:

  • Polarized sunglasses
  • Hat
  • Rain jacket
  • Gloves (especially for early or late seasons)
  • Long-sleeved shirts
  • Puffy down vest or jacket
  • Quick-dry shorts and long pants
  • Warm, long pants to wear under waders
  • Dry bag for personal items
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellent
  • Camera

Your fishing gear, including rod, reel, boots, waders, flies, and tackle, is provided in your package. If you prefer to bring your own equipment, we suggest:

  • Fly rods (9’ 5 or 6 wt – medium/fast action)
  • Secondary rod (9’ 4 wt – good for smaller tributaries)
  • Reels and fly lines (matching rod weight – floating)
  • Orvis breathable waders
  • Felt or rubber soled wading boots (note: felt boots not allowed in Yellowstone National Park)

Keep in mind that temperatures can change rapidly, so dressing in layers is advised. We recommend indoor-only footwear for accommodations, casual ranch attire, boots for hiking, a warm jacket for cooler times, a hat, and polarized sunglasses. Also, consider lightweight, long-sleeve shirts for sun protection.
