Overview

What’s different about our operation with our floating lodge? We’ve been owner-operators of this business for 26 years. With our floating lodge, you can experience an intimately personal trip and the natural beauty of BC up close. Beause the lodge travels, the scenery is different each day and you’ll see sights that can only be seen from the water. From magical waterfalls and natural hot springs to whales, porpoises and of course uncrowded fishing, our guests are treated to a rare “once-in-a-lifetime” experience. We anchor close to the fishing grounds in secluded anchorages, usually with no one else around. We can also tailor your trip to your desires!

Captain Jim and Laurie welcome you aboard their 60ft Monk design motor yacht— the M.V. Ocean Sun II. This “mobile fishing lodge” is designed with walk-around decks with the aft section covered. From the comfort of the yacht, you’ll fish for Salmon, Halibut, Lingcod, Red Snapper, not to mention crabs and prawns!

Get ready to fish, sightsee or go ashore to explore and beach comb along the breathtaking Inside Passage of Canada’s west coast! Captain Jim will personalize your private tours for a serene cruise to view the wide diversity of marine life. Zip ashore with the Zodiac or double kayak for beach combing. Take a tour of the sandy beaches, historic harbors and majestic islands along the way. Canada’s West Coast is world renowned for it’s wildlife and scenic beauty. Imagine seeing glaciers, the rare White Spirit Bear, Black Bears and Grizzly Bears, Wolves and lots of Eagles while enjoying clear air and the sounds of nature.

Our fishing tour leaves Kitimat and takes you 50 miles down the Douglas Channel, surrounded by islands and waterfalls to our most productive fishing areas fringing the open waters of the Great Pacific.

Laurie, our chef, specializes in preparing the days harvest in gourmet fashion. This is likely the freshest seafood you have ever eaten.

Your adventure with us will relax you, reset the work-a-day clock that modern living often demands and retune your sensitivity to nature. Our adventure trips book up fast, often by return customers, so book your trip while there is still space available.

The Captain holds all certificates required by Transport Canada and Canadian Coast Guard.

Although most people fly into Terrace, there are several other nearby airports that all have easy access to the Marina (Gulf Islands, Campbell River, Port Hardy, Bella Bella).
