Overview

There’s fishing Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte Islands… and then there’s fishing everywhere else…

The waters we fish are a natural fishing phenomenon. Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte Islands has been a longtime world-renowned destination for its incredible salmon and halibut angling opportunities. If that isn’t enough, try fishing with us right in the thick of it all… right in the middle of the west coast of Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte Islands. This area will most certainly increase your fishing success on top of what is already great fishing. The west coast is the first major land mass all migrating salmon encounter from the cold waters of the Bering Sea prior to their amazing journey back to the exact river they were spawned. Many of these salmon have been tagged here on the islands and have been recovered as far north as Alaska and as far south as northern California. This single reason is why the coastline we fish is consistently the most productive salmon fishing over the longest period of time. Salmon begin to show as early as April and continue through until the end of September. We only book from mid-May right through till mid-September so that we won’t have to offer any shoulder seasons.

Our cold pristine oxygen enriched waters are also another major contributor as to why all parts of the marine food chain flourishes here. Everything from whales, sea lions, eagles, salmon, halibut, herring and plankton are in these waters by the masses.

At West Wave Fishing, we have made our best efforts to parallel the high level of fishing opportunities with our safe and professional orientated guides, boats, equipment and lodging.

Simply put… we have combined the best salmon & halibut fishing with services that will help any angler have their best fishing experiences ever!
