My wife and I are retired and very flexible regarding timing. Living in Victoria BC we have fished much of the Island and two years ago were up in Alaska & the Yukon. What we enjoy is fly fishing and when that is not working, spin casting. Trolling is not really for us. River fishing estuary is perfect as is (just) off shore…..but not trolling. We are very self sufficient and so a super expensive lodge is not at all essential and as former boat owners (Hughescraft Searunner) are comfortable on our own.
