Overview

Alaska’s Gold Creek Lodge is an Alaska fishing and adventure lodge perched on the banks of the world-famous Naknek River in beautiful King Salmon, Alaska. Entrance to Katmai National Park and located on the southwestern peninsula approximately 280 miles from Anchorage, within the Bristol Bay watershed. King Salmon is only accessible by air, which ensures you a truly remote wilderness experience away from the crowds. The Naknek River and the surrounding area hosts prolific runs of five species of salmon and is a designated trophy rainbow trout area. The Naknek river is a tidal river which brings in a fresh crop of salmon with each new tide, ensuring excellent fishing every day of the salmon run. The Naknek River is boasted by Fish Alaska Magazine as “the best rainbow trout fishing in Alaska,” and we agree! With the fish comes incredible wildlife! We not only cater to fishermen, but wildlife viewers and photography focused guests as well! We truly are a choose your own adventure lodge, for those who love to explore!!

From our lodge as your luxury base camp, you can experience world-class guided fishing, excellent Brown Bear/wildlife viewing, back country ATV adventures, Scenic flights, hiking, sport shooting, kayaking, paddle boarding, beach combing, excursions to the Aniakchak National Monument, and exploring in Katmai National park. You will leave with memories that will last a lifetime.

Our lodge is perfectly positioned to take advantage of not just the beautiful trophy class Naknek River, but all of the remote and rarely touched pristine waters of our area. Adventure into the wilds of Alaska’s Katmai National Park and the Bristol Bay areas only accessible by float plane. Flights are generally short and get you to remote wilderness to enjoy secluded fishing, or wildlife viewing. You can fly-out daily (weather permitting) to a different location and fish for a plethora of species, or just enjoy the wildlife and photography opportunities. All in one day, depending on the time in the season, you can catch: King Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Silver Salmon, Chum, and Pink Salmon; Rainbow Trout, Grayling, Dolly Varden, Arctic Char, lake trout, and Northern Pike…or see the majestic brown bear, caribou, moose, or the occasional wolf in their natural wilderness habitat.

It is not uncommon to catch 30 plus fish in a day depending on the area. Whether fly fishing is your specialty or you are a conventional gear angler, we will customize our fishing, or wildlife viewing program to suit you. We will pair you with an expert guide to suit your wishes. Your guide is here to help you and will educate you on the waters/areas that you will be fishing or exploring. Our lodge welcomes all types of angling abilities as well as those new to the sport of fishing who would like to come to us as a novice and leave as an expert angler. You may also choose to fly-out for beach combing, hiking, and wildlife viewing.
