Overview

Kodiak Adventures lodge is located in a remote area of Kodiak Island that’s teeming with wildlife and of course plenty of Alaska salmon & halibut. Kodiak Adventures Lodge is a remote fly in fishing lodge accessible by a scenic 30-minute float plane flight with Island Air Service from Kodiak City. If you’re looking for a truly remote Alaskan wilderness lodge, this is it!!!!

All of our Kodiak Salmon fishing charters are a short boat ride away from our fishing lodge which means you’ll spend more time fishing with us. We troll several miles of shoreline in Kiliuda Bay for Alaskan King Salmon (also called Chinook), Coho Salmon (also called Silver), Pink Salmon (also called Humpies) and Chum Salmon (also called Keta or Dog Salmon) depending on the time of the year.

If you’re looking to reel in large halibut you’ve come to the right place. The unique part of Kodiak Island and in particular Kiliuda Bay, are the depths at which we catch Halibut. Most of the halibut fishing we do is in water that’s less than 200 feet deep. The average depth is 60-100 feet. At these depths halibut fight much harder and are a bigger challenge even for the experienced bottom fisherman. Fishing shallower water is far less exhausting on the arms and back, so the added benefit is you have more energy to fight the big ones and can fish all day long with more enjoyment.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Description

Kodiak Adventures Lodge is a full service, remote ocean front lodge. Guest access is by float plane only 50 air miles south of Kodiak City. Our nearest “neighbors” are 26 boat miles away in the little village of Old Harbor. The lodge sits at the head of Kiliuda Bay north of Old Harbor. Even though we are remote, we have all the modern amenities and full time “green” electricity. With our installation of a micro hydro unit and solar panels on site a few years ago (generator backup as emergency) we are very pleased with our new quiet atmosphere.kodiak alaska fishing lodge.

There are three spacious rooms, each with a king or queen bed and two twin beds. Each room has a private bathroom, woodstove, and a beautiful ocean view.

There is satellite television to catch up on your sports and news. Or just put your feet up and take in the awesome veiw from the great room.))

Meals

At our wonderful remote Alaska lodge you can look forward to enjoying delicious meals in our spacious dining room. We serve a full breakfast (Ex: omelettes, french toast, pancakes, egg strata) including fresh fruit, tea, coffee and juice. A nice lunch will be packed for the boat that includes sandwiches, snacks and beverages to go while you are out exploring remote Kodiak Island and Kiliuda Bay. We will tempt your appetite upon your return to the lodge with an appetizer while you relax from your days adventure. Later we serve dinner with meals like aged steaks on the grill with fresh crab, scallops fettuccine alfredo, grilled pork loin and asparagus or one of our other hearty meals. We also serve fresh seafood “catch of the day” with most of our other entrees. Dinner includes homemade breads and organic vegetables. Our desserts are also homemade and served daily.

Other Activities

While trolling or jigging out of our salmon charter boat in Alaska, we have the opportunity to view many of the different species of wildlife Kodiak has to offer. Blacktailed deer, seals, sea otters, river otters, sea lions, orcas, dolphins, and the occasional breaching Humpback whale along with many different sea birds are just a few of the abundant wildlife in and around Kodiak Island. Kodiak Brown bears tours are always on the agenda while fishing. We see them quite frequently along the shore, hunting for washed up morsels. A great way to safely view these giants for those that are timid about our brown bears.

BOATS

Description

28 ft. aluminum walkaround boats.

We use Lamiglas rods, Abu Garcia reels and Cannon downriggers. Our tackle box is full of several different types of baits and lures, we are always looking for the hot bait/lure of the week that the fish want.
